MASTER'S COMMENTS:

"Dear customers, we draw your attention to the fact that all products are made purely by hand and have a unique individual character. That is, the appearance of the product (shade and structure of wood, depth of metal etching, leather texture, etc.) may differ slightly from the photo, but in general the product will be as close as possible to the photo in the product card. Thank you for your understanding!

"By the way, you can order any inscription of your choice both on the leather cover and on the ax log itself to make the ax unique! All this can be discussed during the order! Call or write - always happy to help!

Drawings are applied to the blade by the method of etching in a chlorine gland. There is also wood carving, everything is done by hand, without lasers and CNC!"

Steel 65G - structural spring-spring

Steel 65G is an alloyed carbon steel that contains approximately 0.65% carbon and additions of other elements such as silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and chromium. This steel has high hardness and strength, as well as good machinability.

Steel 65G is used in mechanical engineering and the production of various metal structures, for example, for the manufacture of car parts, rail fasteners, gears, gears, springs and other parts that are subjected to heavy loads. It can also be used to make tools such as drills, cutters, knives, etc.

65G steel can be quenched and tempered to increase its strength and hardness, but this can reduce its ductility and toughness. Therefore, the choice of heat treatment method depends on the requirements for the final product.

Grade 65G - application

Structural spring steel 65G is used for the manufacture of parts with increased wear resistance, operating without shock loads:

  • springs,
  • springs,
  • feeding / clamping collets,
  • bearing housings,
  • flange,
  • gears,
  • friction discs,
  • brake bands,
  • thrust washers.

  • Specific weight: 7850 kg/m3.
  • Heat treatment: Delivery condition.
  • Material hardness: HB 10 -1 = 241 MPa.
  • Temperature of critical points: Ac1 = 721 , Ac3 (Acm) = 745 , Ar3 (Arcm) = 720 , Ar1 = 670 , Mn = 270.
  • Forging temperature, °С: beginning 1250, end 780-760. Cooling of workpieces with a cross section of up to 100 mm is carried out in air, cross sections of 101-300 mm in a trough.
  • Machinability: in the hardened and tempered state at HB 240 and σv=820 MPa, K υ solid. cpl=0.85 and Kυ b.st=0.80.
  • Weldability of the material: not applicable for welded structures. KTS - no restrictions.
  • Floken sensitivity: not sensitive.
  • Tendency to temper brittleness: prone to Mn≥1%

Walnut wood has good physical and mechanical properties

Walnut wood has good physical and mechanical properties - it is quite dense and strong, and can be easily processed with both machine tools and hand tools. Reliability, as well as high decorativeness and adaptability to various external conditions have made walnut a popular carpentry material not only on the continent, but also around the world. American walnut is widely used to create almost any wooden products, which differ in both aesthetics and durability.
Walnut wood has a dark color in chocolate-brown tones, sometimes with a slight purple tint. Its noble texture is highly valued when creating handmade products. High-quality sanding and colorless finish coating emphasize the expressive pattern and color of the wood even more.
Processing American walnut is usually not difficult. It is well cut and planed with a sharp tool, perfectly sanded and polished to a shine. Holds small parts well - walnut products can be covered with fine artistic carvings. Any product for wood is suitable for protective impregnation of black walnut. It is not accepted to tint and paint it, because the natural color range is appreciated in wood.
American walnut is strong, tough and heavy enough to be used for axes. Its wear resistance allows you to create axes for active use in adverse weather conditions. However, American walnut is not suitable for making a pickaxe with a long, narrow ax or a heavy hammer. It is ideal for small work tools and collectibles.
Examples of American walnut wood products
The noble colors and expressive texture of the walnut will perfectly decorate the hand-made collectible axes:
American walnut is well suited for creating axes of small working axes:
Of course, the blank format is suitable not only for making axes. For example, a flute can be made from a bar, and American walnut has excellent acoustic characteristics:
