Powder steel S390 MICROCLEAN is a powder metallurgical high-speed steel of the third generation, which is made from exceptionally clean finely dispersed powder produced at a modern plant for the production of high-quality powder steels BÖHLER in Kapfenberg, Austria.
This alloy is expensive, belongs to the premium class with high hardness and complex mechanical and heat treatment. As a result, its hardness can reach up to 67-70 units according to Rockwell, which is distinguished by an aggressive cut and high operational characteristics.
Powder steel S390 is widely used for the production of high-performance tools (for example, in the automotive industry - clutches, camshaft flywheels; in metal cutting - drilling, threading, gear cutting tools, broaching and turning, end mills, saws; in cold metal working - various types of spindles thread knurling tools, etc.), i.e., where the high precision of the components is important, as well as the stability and duration of its use, therefore, the composition contains many alloying elements, the action of which is aimed at preserving the properties of steel in any conditions.

Kap and souvel are growths on the trunks of trees in the form of characteristic rounded swellings. Getting such a blank is a dream for everyone who works with wood, and here's why. The fibers in such growths have a special deformed structure: their tortuous and disordered growth creates a unique texture called swill. But this is not the flexibility characteristic of, for example, maple. It is very tangled in growth and has a number of features, thanks to which an incomparable wooden texture is obtained. With its pattern and characteristic ebb, it resembles marble, mother-of-pearl or moire pattern. Such material is a real treasure for everyone who works with wood.

Botanical name: Large-leaved Maple or Oregon Maple (lat. Acer macrophyllum) of the Sapind family (lat. Sapindaceae) class Magnoliópsida (lat. Magnoliópsida).
Area of growth
The homeland is the western part of North America, mainly near the Pacific coast (from southern Alaska to southern California). Some ranges can be observed inside the country, for example, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, in the mountains of central California, and there is a tiny population in the central part of the state of Idaho.
Morphological description of the species
The bigleaf maple is a tall, spreading, deciduous tree that usually reaches 15-20 m, but can grow up to 45 m tall. Several trunks often develop.
The color of mature trees varies from gray to red-brown with deep furrows.
The leaves are opposite, 10-30 cm wide and 20-35 cm long, green, shiny above, and pale green below. The leaf plate is deeply and unevenly palmate-five-lobed, sometimes three-lobed leaves are found.
The flowers are fragrant, greenish-white-yellow, unisexual. Pistillate and stamen flowers of about 30 pieces are collected in large brushes up to 15 cm long. Flowers are usually 10-15 mm wide, sepals and petals five each. Stamens 10, their filaments pubescent at the base. Pestikov two. The ovary is upper.
The fruit is a pair of winged achenes. Each of the seeds is 1-1.5 cm in diameter with a 4-5 centimeter wing, covered with hard golden hairs, the wings diverge at an angle of less than 90 °.

The sapwood is reddish-white, sometimes with a grayish sheen. The core is light, pink-brown in color. Without characteristic smell or taste. Annual rings are not too pronounced, but moderately small or medium in size on radial and tangential sections.
The rays are visible to the naked eye, but only so large. Although most of the texture is fine-grained with straight fibers. But maple with a figured texture is often found, which includes a wavy, quilted, folded pattern, or the well-known "bird's eye".
Wood has lower indicators than other types of maples. It is of medium weight (specific gravity 545 kg/m3) and hardness (Yanke hardness 850 pounds).
It has an average durability index, but with proper processing, the wood is relatively stable and not prone to rotting.
What is maple cap?
Splints on the tree with the usual direction of the fibers changed, thereby changing the wood texture characteristic of maple. It is this nodular growth that leads to the formation of strange patterns on the surface of the wood inside.
The cause of the formation of the cap is considered to be stress from trauma to the bark, fungi, wood, viruses or caused by insects. Wood, as a rule, grows quickly, abnormal growth is observed mainly in tree trunks, but also occurs on lignified roots. Due to the rapid growth and various forms of growth, the wood fibers form extremely intricate and beautiful patterns of kapa.
